In 1981, The Edge of Hawley was founded as a quarterly newsletter with the purpose of providing information about town activities and government. A few years later, the Sons and Daughters of Hawley assmed responsibility for the publication, broadening its focus to include articles about the SDH and Hawley history. Over the past 41 years, The Edge has continued to grow, and its contents have expanded and diversified. In addition to articles about community and town affairs, SDH events, and Hawley history, the current quarterly journal carries notices of births, marriages, real estate transactions, and deaths, as well as original essays by members about their connections to Hawley, photographs, advertising for local businesses, and a catalogue of SDH-related items and historical publications to be purchased.
