By scrolling through images of the interpretive signs that mark the cellar holes and other features of Hawley’s Old Town Common, you can enjoy a preview of this historic site in preparation for a visit.
When you arrive at the site of Hawley's Old Town Common, at the top of East Hawley Road, you will be greeted with an information kiosk, a place to park your car, and a picnic table. You can study the map of the historic site on the kiosk (shown to your right) before you set off on your tour. Brochures to help guide you through the site are available at the kiosk. The kiosk sign also directs visitors to the Hawley Bog, an extraordinary natural feature, owned by the Nature Conservancy and the Five Colleges, located next to the Old Town Common. Visit them both!
